By enrolling in tutoring services with Ascent Education ("we", "us", "our"), all students and/or their parents or guardians ("you", "your") agree to abide by the following terms, expectations and policies. This document forms a binding Service Agreement between you and Ascent Education.
1.1 Students are expected to:
1.1.1 Attend all scheduled sessions on time and prepared.
1.1.2 Show respect to their tutor(s), peers (if applicable), and all staff.
1.1.3 Participate actively and be open to learning and feedback.
1.1.4 Avoid disruptive behaviour or inappropriate language during sessions (in-person or online).
1.2 Parents/guardians are expected to:
1.2.1 Support the learning process through encouragement and communication.
1.2.2 Provide a quiet, distraction-free environment during sessions (in-person or online).
1.2.3 Communicate any concerns with us professionally and constructively.
2.1 A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule any session.
2.2 Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) or failure to attend will incur the full session fee.
2.3 Repeated no-shows or lateness may result in suspension or termination of services.
3.1 All sessions must be paid for in accordance with our standard invoicing schedule.
3.2 If payment is overdue, we reserve the right to:
• Suspend future sessions until the balance is paid; and/or
• Automatically debit the outstanding amount using the nominated payment method.

4.1 Students must not request tutors to complete school assignments or assessments on their behalf.
4.2 We provide support, guidance and clarification – not substitution for student work.
4.3 Any form of academic dishonesty will result in immediate suspension of services.
5.1 Students must ensure their internet connection and device are functioning before each online session.
5.2 Recording sessions is strictly prohibited unless written permission is granted.
5.3 Tutors may end a session if a student is engaging in inappropriate behaviour online.
6.1 All student information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
6.2 All tutors are vetted and are required to have a valid and paid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
6.3 Parents are encouraged to supervise students during online lessons when appropriate. For example, parents should be within sight or sound of the child during their online tutoring sessions as a good rule.
7.1 Either party may terminate this agreement at any time with reasonable notice.
7.2 Ascent Education reserves the right to cancel services in cases of:
• Repeated misconduct or disrespectful behaviour
• Non-payment of fees
• Breach of this Agreement
By commencing tutoring services with Ascent Education, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to comply with this Code of Conduct & Service Agreement. You also accept responsibility for ensuring your child adheres to the expectations outlined.
