These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the provision of tutoring and educational services (“Services”) by Ascent Education (“we”, “us”, “our”) to you, the client (“you”, “your”). By engaging our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1.1 Tutoring sessions are scheduled through direct communication between you (the client), Ascent Education, or your assigned tutor. While our tutors utilise an internal online booking system for scheduling, clients are not required to use this system.
1.2 Invoices are issued within three (3) business days following the completion of each tutoring session.
1.3 Payments are due within seven (7) days of the invoice date, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
1.4 You are required to maintain a valid payment method at all times to facilitate timely payments.
1.5 Upon making payment to Ascent Education in exchange for services provided, you authorise us to securely store your payment details (in connection to that payment) in our system for the purpose of processing future payments.
1.6 Upon making payment to Ascent Education in exchange for services provided, you authorise us to automatically debit any past or future outstanding amounts from your nominated payment method if an invoice remains unpaid seven (7) days past its due date.
1.7 Failure to make payment may result in the suspension or termination of tutoring services until the outstanding balance is settled.
2.1 A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule a session.
2.2 Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur the full session fee.
2.3 Refunds will only be provided in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
2.4 In the event of tutor unavailability, we will offer to reschedule or assign another tutor. If no immediate alternative is available, we will place you on a priority waiting list and notify you as soon as a tutor becomes available.
3.1 Tutors will wait up to 15 minutes for a late student. After this time, the session may be forfeited without refund.
3.2 If a student fails to attend a scheduled session without notice, the full fee will apply.
4.1 Students must behave respectfully toward all tutors and staff.
4.2 We reserve the right to suspend or cancel Services if a student engages in disruptive, offensive, or unsafe behaviour.
5.1 Tutors engaged by Ascent Education are either employees or subcontractors and are selected for their subject-matter expertise and teaching ability.
5.2 While we take care to ensure high standards, we do not guarantee a particular outcome, grade, or academic result.
6.1 All resources, lesson plans, notes, and materials provided during sessions remain the intellectual property of Ascent Education unless otherwise agreed in writing.
6.2 You may use these materials for personal study purposes only and may not reproduce, distribute, or share them without permission.
7.1 We collect and handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
7.2 Your personal information will be used solely for the purpose of delivering and administering educational services.
8.1 Ascent Education is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising out of the use of our Services.
8.2 To the extent permitted by law, our total liability in relation to the provision of Services is limited to the amount paid by you for the relevant session(s).
9.1 We reserve the right to update or amend these Terms at any time by publishing an updated version on our website.
9.2 Continued use of our Services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the amended Terms.
10.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
10.2 Any disputes arising in relation to these Terms or the provision of our Services must be resolved in accordance with applicable Australian law.
